Meet A Few Of Our New 2014 Staff

ali staff1)What is your name?  Alexandra Baer Chan, but I usually go by Allie!

2)Where are you from? Riverside, Connecticut and Harrison, New York. But I went to boarding school in New Hampshire for four years, and now I go to college in New York City.

3)What activities will you be involved in while at camp? And what about these activities most excites you? I will probably be most involved with wilderness expeditions, like hiking, as well as arts and crafts and some lacrosse. Getting to immerse yourself in nature is often unique to the camp experience, and I can’t wait to share this passion with the campers! I also hope to help people find what inspires them and what their favorite mediums are in art. As for lacrosse, few things compare to catching the ball midfield, sprinting towards goal, weaving through defenders, and hearing the “whoosh” as it hits the net!

4)What three words best describe you? Thoughtful, good-intentioned, and probably talkative…

5)If you could be any kind of food, what kind would you be and why? I would be mango sticky rice, my favorite Thai dessert, because it’s sweet, but in a natural way.

6)If you could be any super hero, who would you be and what would your super powers be? I would want to have the power of flight, and the power to stop time, but I’d keep going–that way I’d be able to travel through time and space.

7)What about coming to Forest Lake are you most looking forward to? I’m most looking forward to the fact that it will be my job to help campers have fun! I can’t wait to get to lead fun activities, sing camp songs, dress up crazy, and kid around with the campers.

Frank staff1)What is your name?  Frank Pagliaro

2)Where are you from?  Harwich, Massachusetts

3) What activities will you be involved in while at camp? And what about these activities most excites you? I will be leading the drama program along with Paige Peterkin, teaching improv comedy classes, and coaching baseball.  I’m most excited to put on a fun play with the campers!

4) What three words best describe you? Silly, thoughtful, charismatic

5) If you could be any kind of food, what kind would you be and why?  A fruit cake–that way no one would eat me!

6) If you could be any super hero, who would you be and what would your super powers be? I’d be Skittle-o-matic…with the power to spit Skittles on command.

7)What about coming to Forest Lake are you most looking forward to?  I am most looking forward to living in a cabin with the boys!  Can’t wait to start bonding.

Caroline Kravitz1)What is your name? Caroline Kravitz

2)Where are you from? I’m from New York City (Upper West Side)!

3)What activities will you be involved in while at camp? And what about these activities most excites you?  At camp I’ll be involved in lacrosse, photography, fitness, and hopefully a little bit of everything! I’m excited to expose campers to the activities I love and help them develop their skills throughout their time at camp. I also hope to bring Zumba to Forest Lake!

4)What three words best describe you? My friends and family say I’m friendly, enthusiastic, and motherly.

5)If you could be any kind of food, what kind would you be and why? If I could be any kind of food I would most definitely be peanut butter. Actually…if I wanted to avoid getting eaten, I’d probably choose anchovies.

6)If you could be any super hero, who would you be and what would your super powers be? I’m not sure if this counts as a super hero, but I’d love to be Professor McGonagall from Harry Potter; she’s a witch and she can turn into a cat — doesn’t get better than that.

7)What about coming to Forest Lake are you most looking forward to? I’m excited to continue my summers at camp and take on a new role as a counselor! Forest Lake continues to surprise me in amazing ways every summer; I can’t wait to see what this summer brings!
