What is Rookie Day?
This special day at Forest Lake Camp is a one-day trial experience for kids who want to see what camp is really like before committing to a full session. Campers jump right into activities, meet counselors, and get a true feel for the energy, friendships, and fun that define life at Forest Lake.
The day begins with an 8:30 AM drop-off, giving campers time to settle in, join their age group, and follow a typical camp schedule. While campers are immersed in their day, parents can return for a guided tour at 3:45 PM led by Michael Childs, our Camp Director, and Coby, our Marketing Director. The day wraps up with a complimentary dinner at 5:00 PM prepared by our Executive Chef, along with time to connect with Michael and ask any questions. By the end of the experience, families leave with a genuine understanding of camp—and more often than not, excitement to come back.
