We are delighted to announce that Charmaine Kern is joining our team as our new horse-riding director!

Charmaine is a Riding Master from Meredith Manor International Equestrian Center and a certified instructor in both English and Western disciplines. Charmaine has been immersed in the equine industry for over 30 years running successful training facilities and preparing horses and riders for competition in disciplines as diverse as dressage, eventing, reining, driving, pleasure, long distance riding, and liberty. She has owned and worked with many breeds of horses from wild mustangs to OTTBs, has ridden with mounted police units, and speaks as a national clinician at various horse expos.

Charmaine is active in several professional equine organizations, is endorsed by the Girl Scout Council for the horse badge program she developed, and is a 4-H Horse Club leader. She is well versed in both training and riding theory and utilizes classical principles and common sense to promote safe, skilled, and humane methods in all aspects of riding and training. She has helped countless recreational and competitive riders of all ages enhance their skills, loves to teach young riders about horse care and barn management, and is looking forward to working with our campers this summer.

Charmaine will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our horse-riding program, from designing lesson plans to managing the care of our horses. Her dedication to safety and her ability to connect with riders of all levels makes her a great fit for our FLC horse program.
