March 2014 Newsletter

Meet some of our new 2014 staff

Ruby ReynoldsWhat is your name? Ruby Reynolds

Where are you from? I’m from Berkshire in the UK, which is just west of London!

What activities will you be involved in while at camp? And what about these activities most excites you?Hopefully I will be getting involved with as much as possible!  I am really looking forward to getting my lifeguard certification and encouraging more participation in Netball (a UK favorite)! I can’t wait to meet the campers and watch them develop and grow while having an awesome time.

What three words best describe you? Ambitious, sociable, approachable

If you could be any kind of food, what kind would you be and why? I would have to choose my mum’s homemade lasagna! Multi-layered, rich in flavor, yet humble, reliable and never letting you down!

If you could be any super hero, who would you be and what would your super powers be? I would be Wonder Woman.  She is powerful but strives for peace and encourages people to be the best person they can be. My super power would definitely be the ability to fly! No traffic jams and I could travel anywhere in the world and see everything from a bird’s eye view!

What about coming to Forest Lake are you most looking forward to? Meeting all of the other staff and campers and creating friendships that will last forever. I am looking forward to being outdoors and embracing the amazing environment that I will be living in at camp.

What three words best describe you? I would describe myself as intuitive, curious, and generous.

If you could be any kind of food, what kind would you be and why?  Due to my curly hair, I think curly fries are fitting.

What about coming to Forest Lake are you most looking forward to?  I’m excited to see all of my old friends and make many new ones in both the staff and the campers.

Emily FaganWhat is your name? My name is Emily Fagan but most people at camp just call me Fagan

Where are you from? I’m from Waccabuc, NY – Just an hour North of NYC

What activities will you be involved in while at camp? And what about these activities most excites you? I hope to be involved in Ultimate Frisbee, Fitness, Volleyball and Photography. I play on my high school’s Ultimate team called Air Raid. I love the fast-paced, action-packed nature of the sport. I love film photography, and hope to be spending a good amount of time in the darkroom this summer. I’m super excited to spread my love for FLC, through these activities and more!

What three words best describe you? I think I can best be described as outgoing, resilient, and positive.

If you could be any kind of food, what kind would you be and why? If I could be any food I would be some sort of ice cream,  or really cheesy Mac and Cheese, or a tall glass of milk. I’m lactose intolerant, and sometimes I just really wish I could enjoy dairy, which is why I would want to be it!

If you could be any super hero, who would you be and what would your super powers be? If I could have a super power it would be the ability to give every kid a summer at camp, so that they could have all of the awesome experiences that I have had!

What about coming to Forest Lake are you most looking forward to? I have been a camper for 7 years, but this summer (my 8th) is my first as a counselor. I’m most looking forward to doing my part in giving back to FLC all that I have gained from being here. I am so excited to see campers learn and grow, and find their own love for Forest Lake, just as I did nearly 8 years ago!
