Lights – Camera – Action!

Hello to our FLC community! We are gearing up for an exciting summer with the drama program at Forest Lake Camp! We’ve spent the last few weeks reading over various scripts in the hopes of finding the right fit for our campers. There are some exciting titles on our short list: Treasure Island, The Emperor’s New Clothes, Peter Pan, The Hobbit, and The Frog Princess, to name just a few. The final decision will be a secret though as we hope to keep our campers guessing to keep the enthusiasm and excitement growing! The two of us could not be more excited to share our love of the performing arts with an eager group of campers and young adults. Before the summer session starts, we would like to share a little bit about ourselves.

Paige Peterkin (seen on right), a Theatre major at Williams College, will be co-leading the drama program. Paige is an actress by trade, having an extensive list of acting credits with student groups and the Department of Theatre at Williams College. Paige has also recently delved into the world of costume design and directing. She served as a wardrobe assistant in the Department’s production of Cabaret while designing costumes for Of One Allegiance Only, a new play written by her drama program co-leader, Frank, this past November. She has directed for the Williams College Women’s Collective and is excited to play the title role in the Department’s spring production of Eisa Davis’ Bulrusher. Paige looks forward to using her experience at Forest Lake to supplement her training, which she will continue at the National Theatre Institute in Connecticut next fall. Keep a sharp eye trained on Broadway for this talented future star!

Frank Pagliaro, graduates from Williams College in the spring with a degree in English and History. He has acted in, directed, written, and served as a technician for more than a dozen productions during his time at the College, embodying the philosophy of theatre generalization. His most recent acting credits include BJ in Courtesy for Beginners and Stanton Case in Broken Glass, both with the Williams Department of Theatre. Frank also served on the board of America’s oldest student theatre group, Cap and Bells, for two years. This year, he holds the Student Supervisor position in the scene shop of the ’62 Center for Theatre and Dance in Williamstown. His experience with technical theatre, in addition to his acting and writing experience, makes him an excellent fit for Forest Lake’s program. Frank is also the head of Combo Za, Williams’ improvisational comedy group, and is very much looking forward to sharing his improv knowledge with Forest Lakers!

We are thrilled beyond words to work together in the coming months to support a drama program at Forest Lake that will be both fun and educational. Theatre is nothing short of magic, and we relish the opportunity to teach young people the tricks of the trade!                               -Drama Directors, Frank and Paige
