Solar Panels at FLC

Over the course of the spring and summer we installed nearly 150 solar panels!

There are now 64 panels on the mess hall which produce about half of the energy we need to run our kitchen, dining and laundry facilities. The rest of the solar panels are located on the back of the Confer Pavilion. These panels produce enough energy for the rest of the cabins and facilities on camp. In total we now produce about 50Kw across the two systems, providing about 70% of all our electricity needs for the year.

In the coming years we hope to add in even more to get to be 100% solar! We are dedicated to making a continuous effort to take care of our planet and we are very proud to have taken this step in doing our part to help preserve our beautiful surroundings.
