Meet some of our 2015 LIT’s

FLC LITs 2014
2014 FLC Leaders in Training Campers

At FLC we help campers develop leadership by providing experiences that challenge and stretch their sense of self. We feel it is very important that our campers end each summer feeling a bit more confident and self-ensured than they did at the beginning of the summer. Our Leaders in Training (LIT) session, for our 16 year old campers, is a program designed to allow our oldest campers to test what they have learned and strengthen their leadership compass. Our LIT program is also a great resume builder for college. This summer we have another very strong group of LIT’s . We are very excited to team up with this group of LIT’s and support them as they help us create a remarkable summer experience for our younger campers. Since our LIT’s are such an important part of our leadership team at FLC, we thought we would introduce a few to you.

Emma LIT FLCEmma Rafferty

1. How many years have you attended FLC? This coming summer will be my fourth year.

2. What is one of the greatest lessons or skills you have learned from your time at FLC? FLC has taught me to not be afraid to be bold. It has taught me to be brave and be willing to try crazy things, whether it’s something embarrassing or something new.

3.What is one special thing you hope to share with the FLC community this summer as an LIT? I hope that this summer I get a chance to lead the campers in the same activities that I’ve always loved, like archery and softball. Hopefully, I can lead the activities just as well as I have always been lead in them.

4. What is one thing that makes you REALLY excited about joining the LIT team this summer? Since I’ve been coming to FLC, I’ve always looked up to the LITs. I’m really excited to be a role model to the younger campers and to be someone that gets looked up to.
