Meet Sal and Ava!

What is your name? My name is Ava Rachel D’Agostino.

Where are you from? I am from Florham Park, NJ.

How many summers have you been coming to FLC? I have spent one summer at camp and this coming summer will be my second!

How did you find out about FLC? My parents were looking for a camp for us to go to and they found FLC and we went to a special bowling event and met the directors and other campers. It looked like so much fun!

What is your favorite activity at camp? My favorite activity at FLC is rock climbing. It was my favorite because you get a lot of upper body strength and it is good for your body and it is also fun at the same time.

What would you say to someone who was trying FLC for the first time?  What would I say? My trying out camp for the first time advice would be: the counselors are very nice and you can always tell them anything. The food is really great, and I bet that you will not be homesick because of how much fun it is and how nice all of the people are.

What did you enjoy the most about FLC?  I enjoyed two things the most about being at camp and that was the special Campfires every Sunday night and making so many great new friends.

What is one of your favorite camp memories?  One of my favorite camp memories was when I met my counselor Liz and she told me that she was from London and that she would read Harry Potter to us every night before bed to help us fall asleep! I really enjoyed listening to the story and it made it so easy to go to sleep!

What are you most looking forward to for summer 2018?  I am looking forward to meeting the new directors and doing more horseback riding and hopefully getting one award at campfire… hopefully for my riding if I improve!!!

What is your name? My name is Salvatore D’Agostino.

Where are you from? I am from Florham Park, NJ.

How many summers have you been coming to FLC? I have spent one summer at FLC and this summer will be my second!

How did you find out about FLC? My parents found out about it after doing a bunch of research, and when I found out about it and met some of the people it really looked awesome.

What is your favorite activity at camp? My favorite activity is basketball because I got to play a lot of games with my new friends.

What would you say to someone who was trying FLC for the first time?  I was so scared about going away from home and I thought that I would hate it, but I didn’t hate it at all. In fact, it was a lot of fun. FLC felt very comfortable, there were a lot of nice people and nice campers, and it just felt right from the first moment I got there.

What did you enjoy the most about FLC?  What I enjoyed most about being at camp – I like being away from the hustle and bustle of real life and being surrounded by all of the beautiful scenery at camp.

What is one of your favorite camp memories?  One of my most favorite memories at camp was the lip sync competition because my friends and I got to be very silly. It was so much fun.

What are you most looking forward to for summer 2018?  I am looking forward to doing everything all over again, and to seeing some old friends. It was such a good experience and I think this summer will even be better.

We really believe that FLC has been a tremendous experience for our children in so many ways. We believe in having them try new and different things, and also in giving them the opportunity to meet new people and to learn a sense of independence. We found the staff at FLC to be warm and welcoming and the enthusiasm that they had for their program was infectious. Our children were naturally a little nervous at the prospect of being away from home for the first time alone, but everyone at FLC made them feel so welcome and a part of the family… our kids returned home with a new sense of confidence and a ton of wonderful memories. They insisted they wanted to return for another summer immediately, and actually asked to go for a longer period of time. We cannot wait to hear about all of the new experiences and memories that they make in the years to come! -Sal and Tara D’Agostino (FLC Parents)
