Our archery, riflery and trap shooting programs offer campers a unique opportunity to learn these skills where they otherwise may never have the chance. Our professional accredited staff strongly emphasize safety and responsibility and ensure that every camper is provided the guidance and instruction to improve their skills. As campers improve they earn accredited archery and riflery awards that are presented weekly at our traditional Sunday night campfire.

Climbing
Our climbing wall is over 40 feet tall and has three sides with six distinct courses of varying levels of difficulty. Our most challenging climbs offer our more advanced climbers the chance to try an overhang, testing their technical ability and strength. Climbing is immensely popular with all campers and it is always a thrill to see them progress through the climbs with each activity period. All staff members working the climbing wall have gone through rigorous training and have been certified to instruct. Safety is the #1 priority and all equipment is regularly inspected and tested.
We also offer our more advanced senior campers the opportunity to test their rock climbing skills on natural rock. We have partnered up with one of the most renowned rock climbing guide services (Rocksport) in the Adirondacks. During the course of the summer we run a series of senior rock climbing trips to Shelving Rock, which is on the east shore of Lake George and to the High Peak Region in the Adirondack Park.
Each trip is accompanied by 2 of FLC’s rock climbing counselors to help support the Rocksport team.
In order to qualify for this trip senior campers must demonstrate competency on our climbing wall, and learn how to belay and use the climbing commands confidently.
These trips are a huge part of our climbing program at FLC. Not only do our campers reach great heights and experience beautiful vistas but they learn a ton about climbing technique and etiquette.
