Despite weather, FLC Open Houses were a success!

12592487_10153999760314260_1626979656978825204_nIt has been a strange winter in the Northeast! The winter months provided an unexpected huge snow storm that unfortunately got in the way of two Open House events in NY and NJ along with unexpected warming temperatures, forcing us to cancel our Winterfest due to the lack of snow and wintery conditions needed for sledding, skiing and snowmobile fun.

IMG_4663Mother Nature did not completely effect all of our Open Houses; thankfully we were able to came together with new and returning campers and their families in NYC and PA this past month. These events were wonderful gatherings. A BIG thank you to the Burke/Worth family and the Kochman/Hall family for hosting these events in their homes. It is always wonderful to reconnect with so many veteran campers and staff and to hear how the year is going for our camper families. It is equally exciting to meet prospective and new families and introduce them to our community. We could not spread the love of FLC without the help of our current camper families and we thank you all for passing the name of FLC along to so many. The below testimonies are a small window into why we love these events so much.

“Walking up to the Open House I really didn’t know what to expect and to be honest, I was a little nervous to meet my future boss and hopefully some of my future campers. Coming into the house I immediately saw the FLC camp flag flying proud and then I was greeted with so much enthusiasm and excitement from all. Meeting the parents of campers, other counselors, and FLC alumni was amazing.  There was so much excitement and it had such a family feel to it. If this summer is anything like the open house, I have a feeling it will be a great time.”Andy Menard, new counselor

“It was amazing being at the Forest Lake Camp open house in Narberth! There were so many alumni and new families who are joining the camp! I loved hearing everyone’s favorite part about camp. We were also lucky enough to see the latest photos of the new mess hall! The open house made me even more excited to go to camp this summer!” -Mary Worth, veteran camper

“It was such an amazing experience to be at the FLC Open House. It was like camp at home! I loved meeting a few new campers and even a counselor that I will be seeing at camp this summer! It felt so nice to talk about the amazing experiences that I had this past summer and am so excited for this coming summer! Now I am even more ready and excited for camp!!!” -Julia Karten, veteran camper

Our Open House events allow us to continue to share why Forest Lake Camp is such a special place and to get even more excited for the summer ahead. Our next Open House will be hosted by the Kelly family in Needham, MA on March 4th – mark you calendars and spread the word!  Click RSVP to sign up!
