A Forest Lake Wedding Story

FLC Alumni at Caroline and Louis’ Wedding

This September our own co-director Caroline Meyer married FLC alum Louis Thivierge. The couple met at FLC as campers, became Head Counselors together and finally tied the knot after 12 years together!

Caroline and Louis were friends at camp from the age of 13 and grew up together going through the LIT (CIT) and JC programs together. Caroline traveled from Hong Kong to attend camp and Louis came from Quebec. Their friendship lasted even after their time as campers and into their counselor years. When they started college, they decided to give long distance a go and began dating. In 2010 they returned to camp as counselors and came back the following year as head counselors. After 3 years of being head counselors they moved to Australia to pursue their graduate studies.

For the next 5 years they travelled the world together for education and work, moving from Brisbane to Beijing and Hong Kong to Paris. Finally life brought them back to New York where Louis works as a lawyer and Caroline found her way back to FLC as Director.

They were married on September 21st in Garrsion, NY with our very own Bob Duffy officiating the ceremony. There were plenty of familiar camp faces in attendance. Caroline is a second generation camper- her father Joe and uncle Bill both attended camp in the 50’s. Her cousins  attended FLC as did her sister Lily-Anne and Louis’ brother Francois.

Camp has been such a big part of both of their lives and will continue to be. Maybe a third generation? Congratulations Caroline and Louis!
