Geoff Blanck, Co-Owner
Geoff is a second generation alumnus of Forest Lake Camp. His father Bob Blanck spent many summers at FLC in the 50’s and 60’s, and Geoff and his brother Rob were campers during the late 70’s and early 80’s. He spends as much of his summer as he can at FLC and is famous for leading the rain chant “Flee, Fly, Flo” at campfire each Sunday night to help us ward off rain clouds for the rest of the week. He lives in Waterbury, VT with his daughters Emma and Annecy who are both campers, and his wife Shalagh who runs the camp Store.
Tobin Kelly, Co-Owner
Tobin is an alumnus of Camp Tohkomeupog in Madison, New Hampshire where he spent 18 years as a camper, counselor and Head Counselor in addition to leading the alumni association for ten years. He has spent most of his career in the education and training field when not at camp. He comes to Forest Lake as much as he can over the summer to get to enjoy being surrounded by the spirit of a traditional summer camp and to get to know the Adirondacks. He lives in MA with his wife Margaret, son Quinn and daughter Kenzie who is a current FLC camper.
Brett Booker, Co-Director
Brett first joined the FLC family in the early 1990’s as a counselor from England. After some time away from camp he returned in 2012 as Boy’s head counselor and later as waterfront director. Most recently, Brett has led the outside rentals and events at Forest Lake. After 11 years working at FLC, he has stepped into the role of co-director and will continue to use his creativity and enthusiasm to ensure that everyone who comes to Forest Lake will have the best experience and feel like they are part of the FLC family. Brett and his wife Sadie met at camp as counselors and his two sons attend camp during the summer.
Caroline Meyer, Co-Director
Caroline’s family has been part of FLC since the 1950’s with her father and uncle attending camp followed by Caroline, her sister, and cousins beginning in 1995. She progressed through camp as a CIT, JC and counselor before eventually becoming a
head counselor in 2011 after a few years away. In 2014, Caroline left the US to pursue a master’s degree. After moving around the world, Caroline is returning for her sixteenth year at Forest Lake and first as a new co-director. She hopes to bring her love for FLC, knowledge of camp traditions, and appreciation for the Adirondacks to as many kids as she can through a traditional summer camp experience. Caroline lives in New York City with her Fiancé, Louis Thivierge who was also a camper and counselor at Forest Lake Camp.
Brenda Powell, Business Manager
Brenda is our camp Business Manager and works year round to help all aspects of the business run smoothly. Brenda has been working with Forest Lake for the past 9 summers and has been key to the success of behind the scenes operations like accounting, forms, transportation and various office matters. Brenda’s incredible organizational skills, attention to detail and ‘can do’ attitude brings an enormous benefit to FLC. She will be available year round to help parents and the other administrators plan and prepare everything so we can have a smooth and fun filled summer.
Peter Scott, Food Services Director and Executive Chef
Chef Peter is bringing 25 years of restaurant experience to our camp kitchen. He provides the best experience for our campers and guests in the Mess Hall by developing menus that are locally sourced, well balanced and delicious. Chef Peter, along with his staff, will provide everyone on camp with wholesome and fresh meals cooked everyday. He brings his love of cooking to the camp and brings us all the full camp dining experience- mess hall cheers included. During the off-season Chef Peter will develop menus for weddings and events held at camp.
Tyler Guy, Caretaker
Tyler works year round to care for all of the camp buildings and infrastructure so all our facilities are in perfect condition when the summer season is in full swing. He is our go-to guy during the summer for maintenance, upkeep, and a friendly wave as he drives around camp looking after the the camp. Before coming to FLC, Tyler spent four years with The Hunt Companies where he worked in both their residential and commercial divisions. Tyler lives down the road from camp on Kelm Pond Road with his fiancee Courtney and their son Cole.
Gary Confer, Groundskeeper
Of all the team members at FLC, Gary has by far the longest history at camp. Gary’s grandfather, Harold T. Confer, founded Forest Lake Camp in 1926 and was director until 1954 when Phil and Sally Confer took over. Gary’s parents ran FLC together for 32 years until he took over the directorship in 1986. Gary’s knowledge of camp history is second to none and we are grateful to have him as part of our full time team. He has come back to camp as groundskeeper and will help us keep FLC in tip-top shape through the year and during the summer. His calming presence on camp and encyclopedic brain about anything FLC is greatly appreciated by all.
