An alumna camper sent us this great article about the importance of the “camp experience”. Todd Kestin hits the nail right on the head with his article ; stating camp prepares our children for success later on in life. At camp you learn how to take responsibly, form authentic relationships and develop self-confidence by trying new things. This is a great article. I loved the below passage because, to me, this illustrates what I believe is so special at Forest Lake Camp.

“I didn’t need to be “cool” at camp. It was the first place I could truly be myself, and was accepted for who I was. In fact, I felt pretty damn cool for the first time. My self-esteem was boosted, my confidence increased, and I learned about investing myself in things that matter.”
