Meet Michael Childs, our Summer Camp Director, whose lifelong connection to camp began on his very first day as a camper in 1979. What started as a love for activities and friendships became a calling to create meaningful, joyful experiences for young people. Drawn to Forest Lake Camp’s 100-year legacy and strong sense of community, Michael is honored to help guide the camp into its next century.

His motto, “Every Camper, Every Day,” reflects his commitment to ensuring each child feels seen, supported, and valued. Michael leads with warmth, collaboration, and a belief that great staff create great summers—building a camp culture rooted in connection, growth, and lifelong memories.
