Meet some of our FLC Staff Members

What is your name? My name is Hailey Meek but campers often call me Meeko.

Where are you from? I was Born and raised in south Mississippi/Alabama

What is your role at camp this summer? This summer, I will be offering pottery and assisting in other art areas around camp.

What activities are you excited to teach? I’m definitely most excited about pottery! I love to see the creativity that all the campers have and teach them about my favorite thing in the world! I actually discovered my love for pottery at summer camp!

What three words best describe you? Cheerful, spontaneous, and patient.

If you could be any kind of food what would you be and why? I would be broccoli because only the coolest people in the world like broccoli.

What does working at a summer camp mean to you? Summer camp is such an important part of childhood! I love every aspect of camp from meeting new people, getting to spend the summer in the mountains, and making a difference in campers’ lives. If I could be at camp all year round, I would be one happy camper 🙂

What about camp are you most looking forward to? I am most excited about making new friends and growing as a teacher. The view won’t be too bad, either.

If you could be a super hero, what super hero would you be and what would your super powers be? If I were a super hero, I would be Cat Woman- but not the one you’re thinking of. My power would be to summon cats wherever I am so I can pet them. I wouldn’t be able to save the world, but I could make people happy with all the sweet kitties to love.

What is your name? Jade Henke

 Where are you from? Perth, Australia but I have spent more than half of my schooling in London, England and the rest in Perth. Now I study here in the states, in NC.

What is your role at camp this summer? I will be a general counselor, specifically a tennis instructor.

What activities are you excited to teach this summer? I am excited to be on the court and see all the campers have fun and see who is up to challenge me! 🙂

What three words best describe you? Friendly, ambitious and funny

If you could be any kind of food, what kind would you be and why? Fried Oreo, who doesn’t love an Oreo and even better one fried!

What does working at a summer camp mean to you? It means to me that I will be able to experience an American summer camp. I also attended sports camps when I was younger and being able to give back to the campers and see them have fun and develop, that is awesome to me!

What about coming to Forest Lake are you most looking forward to? I am looking forward to meeting everyone and having the chance to be apart of the community and all the memories and good times that will happen over the course of a summer.

If you could be a super hero, what super hero would you be and what would your super powers be? If I could have any super power it would have to be the ability to fly, so I don’t have to take public transport and so I can help anyone who is in need of an urgent ride! I would name myself “Flying J”.

What is your name? Ryan Murphy

Where are you from? I am from the Republic of Ireland

What is your role at camp this summer? This summer I will be a general counselor. I am really looking forward to coaching soccer and teaching guitar. Sports and music are a gift that keep giving.

What three words best describe you? The three words that best describes me are caring, fun and adventurous

If you could be any kind of food, what kind would you be and why? If I could be any food I’d be lasagna because everyone loves lasagna.

What does working at a summer camp mean to you? Working at FLC is very exciting to me because working with and coaching children is one of my dreams. Now I get to live my dream for a summer so I couldn’t be happier.

What about coming to Forest Lake are you most looking forward to?  Forest Lake has so much wilderness and wildlife around; how could you not be excited by that!

If you could be a super hero, what super hero would you be and what would your super powers be? If I was a super hero, I would be superman because I would like all the powers. Not only is that really cool but also to help people.
