Meet some of our 2015 Leaders in Training

My namForest Lake Camp Leaders in Training programe is Emily and this will be my fifth summer at FLC. One of the greatest lessons I learned at Forest Lake is the reward that leaving your comfort zone provides. Whether it’s immersing yourself in a new activity or breaking out of your shell to make new friends at FLC, failure does not exist and one will never regret his/her decision to do so. I really hope to share my passion for FLC with the new and returning campers this summer! I think that FLC is such an amazing place, and I hope that I can help other campers appreciate it too. I am looking forward to this coming summer, and am excited (and ready) to tackle the new responsibilities that my LIT team and I will take on! I can’t wait for summer 2015!

My name is Cate. To me, the LIT program means I can grow and shape not only as a person but as an adult.  My LIT summer will allow me to take on new responsibility and of course leadership.  My LIT summer has been something I have wanted to be a part of since my very first day at camp almost 5 years ago.  I love bringing fun and happiness all around and seeing a child smile. Camp has always been a great experience for me and some of my best memories and friends I have made at FLC. What I want to do is to try and share some of the same experience I had as a camper and pass this on to future campers.

My name is Elijah. To me, the LIT program is a good Screen Shot 2015-05-28 at 11.46.53 AMtransitional opportunity for campers hoping to become counselors. Although LITs do live in a cabin with people their age and participate in activities with other campers, they also have to exhibit more leadership and responsibility towards campers, which is a great way to make the adjustment from camper to counselor. I work well with younger children, and I feel that I am a responsible and fun person. As an LIT I will learn new things that will help me in the future.

My name is Jack.  I have attended FLC for 7 great years. The number one lesson I have learned through FLC is that if you focus on the bright side of a situation, nothing will slow you down. One special thing I would like to spread during my LIT year would be my love and enthusiasm for the color wars . This year as an LIT I would like to do two things; one, to help the campers have the best summer possible and two, to help the entire camp become a camp of ultimate frisbee champs!
