Hello!
I’m beyond excited to introduce myself as the new Executive Director of Forest Lake Camp! My name is Traci, and I feel incredibly lucky to join this extraordinary family that you’ve all worked so hard to build over the years.
I grew up on Long Island, spending summers on Fire Island and winters in the Berkshires or Green Mountains. My love for the outdoors started early, whether I was biking with my sister, skiing in the mountains, or kayaking along the shore. A little more about me: I studied Psychology and Health Science at SUNY Oswego and later earned a Business Management Certificate from UCLA. I spent most of my career leading human service organizations that support children and families. Most recently, I served as CEO of a large nonprofit, but I realized I was missing the direct connections that make working with kids so rewarding. When I found Forest Lake Camp, I knew it was exactly where I was meant to be.
Now, I know Forest Lake is more than just a camp. It’s a place where kids grow, build confidence, and form lifelong friendships. My goal is to preserve that magic while bringing a fresh perspective to enhance programs, strengthen traditions, and ensure that every camper and staff member has the best possible experience. I’m especially excited about creating even more opportunities for campers to challenge themselves. Whether it’s trying a new sport, taking on leadership roles, or stepping outside their comfort zones, these experiences will stay with them for a lifetime.
This summer, you can expect more of the things you love. Saturday campfires, skits, horseback riding, competitions, Color War (who will win? Blue, red, green, or white?), beach parties, ziplining, and so much more! I also have a few ideas I can’t wait to introduce. They will bring us closer as a community, help campers grow in new ways, and, of course, add even more fun to our summers.
Over the next few months, I’ll be getting to know all of you. Whether you’re a first-time camper or an alum with ten summers under your belt, I want to hear your stories, your favorite memories, and your ideas for making Forest Lake even better. My door is always open!
My husband, Mike, our dog, Ziti, and I are so excited to be part of this amazing community, and I can’t wait to make lifelong memories with all of you. If you see me around camp (probably with a coffee in hand and a big smile on my face), don’t hesitate to say hello!
See you soon for a summer filled with adventure, laughter, and unforgettable moments!
