Our Performing Arts Departments teach basic skills and guide the campers toward a final performance. We have staff trained in dance, drama and music who bring a level of expertise, professionalism and safety to provide campers with the skills to expand their horizons and jump out of their comfort zones. We believe that campers of all skill levels take part and benefit from the opportunity to perform before an audience. The dance show and plays are great highlight events attended by the whole camp in the final week of each session.
Creative Arts and Sciences
An important part of a well-rounded camp program and longstanding tradition at Forest Lake is the opportunity to participate in arts and science.

Crafts and Woodworking
In our Arts and Crafts Department, our campers can draw, paint, practice beadwork, make puppets, do wood burnings, create ceramic masterpieces and make kites just to name some of the long list of possibilities. Different projects are made available to our campers each year so there is always something new and exciting to learn.
We have a skilled staff of woodworkers ready to teach essential carpentry skills. Veteran FLC seniors can work on larger projects like Adirondack chairs that remain on permanent display for years at camp (with their names and camp session years burned into the wood). Regular projects can include cutting boards, birdhouses, tic tac toe games, picture frames and more.

Rocketry and Science
Our science department gives campers the opportunity to learn about their surroundings in the Adirondacks and discover things they may have never known. Campers will explore and learn about the vegetation around camp as well as the numerous critters that live in the Adirondack Park.
Rocketry is a favorite part of the science department where campers can build their own model rockets from scratch. At the end of each session there is a show where campers launch their rockets and display the fruits of their labor.
