Our Natural Waterfront
Forest Lake has a completely natural 1.5 mile shoreline broken only by the camp’s sandy beach, beach volleyball court, and dock system. The water quality is tested regularly by the Adirondack Lake Commission to confirm its high quality.
We feel strongly that the more skilled a camper becomes around the water, the safer and more comfortable they will be practicing water-based recreation. Our waterfront activities are considered “lifetime” activities to be enjoyed for years to come.
In order for campers to participate in the range of aquatic activities, each must demonstrate a level of swimming proficiency through our deep water test. Swim instruction is scheduled for campers who request it (or whose parents request it), or those who don’t satisfy the Camp’s basic swim proficiency.
Fishing has become increasingly popular over the years. Bass and trout are plentiful, and if the catch is large enough our professional kitchen staff is willing to serve up the daily catch for your cabin that evening.
